Earning an Online Degree Will Give You a Better Choice of Graphic Design Jobs


A bachelor's degree is required for most entry-level graphic design jobs. If you want a career in this field, consider pursuing an online degree.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the number of graphic design jobs is expected to increase at around the average rate through 2014, while demand for graphic designers with a bachelor's degree and/or Web site design experience is expected to be higher.

Where Will the New Graphic Design Jobs Be?

Although the need for graphic designers should increase over the next six or seven years, there are some areas in which the number of new jobs is expected to be particularly high. These include

  • Web site design
  • television
  • video
  • interactive media (the Web, video games, and cellphones)

As a result, employers are likely to be looking for employees who have good computer software skills, animation know-how, and of Web design experience.

What Qualifications/Training do Graphic Designers Need?

At present, you'll need at least a bachelor's degree to be considered for most entry-level graphic design jobs. If you're interested in a graphic design career why not earn an online degree? Associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees in graphic design are all available online.
